Smoothies can be incredibly fun, incredibly delicious, and incredibly healthy! And, when you add in the green, it takes them to a whole other level! My favorite part of green smoothies… and smoothies in general though…. Versatility!! You can put just about anything you want into a smoothie!! You can make it thick or thin, sweet or tart, warm or cold… you name it. Trying to get your kids to eat more veggies… this is a sure fire way!
Here are some of my favorites…. but keep in mind you can add and change whatever you want. Experimenting makes it oh so much fun!! No luck involved here. Just take the ingredients and stick them in a blender until you reach your desired consistency. (Also… adding a little bit of spirulina or wheatgrass to any of these recipes will not only enhance your green, but add tons of nutrient value!!)
- 2 cups of frozen berries
- 1 cup of spinach
- 1 small cucumber (peeled)
- ice cubes… as per your desired thickness
- 1/2 an avocado
- 1/2 cup of spinach
- 1 kiwi (peeled)
- 1 small green apple (seeds removed)
- 1/2 cup of orange juice (or other juice of choice)
- ice cubes and/or water … as per your desired thickness
The Perfect Combination
- 1 cup of green grapes
- 1/2 cup of kale
- 1/4 lemon (peeled and seeded)
- 2 carrots
- 1/2 cup of spinach
- 1/4 cup broccoli
- ice cubes and/or water … as per your desired thickness
Creamy’n'Green
- 1 banana
- 1 cup of spinach (or kale)
- 1 cup of green grapes
- 1/2 avocado
- 1 cup of milk or yogurt (almond, grain, rice, coconut… you choose)
- ice cubes… as per your desired thickness
