Do you ever feel like the woman in the picture? Completely frustrated with trying to get your kids to eat healthy? Don’t despair.
Believe it or not, picky eating is a part of childhood. Yes, the whole picky-eating-thing is a developmental stage that young children go through. The good news is, you are not alone. Many parents are experiencing the exact same issue. Truth is, if you focus on healthy eating, your children do not have to be destined to be junk-food-a-holics. So, as they go through this developmental phase of their lives what can you do? (more…)

Allergies can be a real pain! They leave your head in a fog, your face screaming for pressure relief, your ears clogged and your nose running as if it were in a marathon. There are many different ways to manage your allergies and to prevent them. One simple way: manage your indoor air quality.
Having a high quality, indoor air purifier can mean the difference between carrying around a box of tissues all day or not. It can also mean the difference between getting a good night’s rest or not.
There are a lot of different air purifiers out there. It is recommended to get an air purifier with a HEPA filter. The air purifiers I use in my own (and also offer for sale) are IQ Air purifiers. I, personally, feel that that are head and shoulders above the rest. Unlike most other air purifiers, they filter over 100x more pollutants than the average air purifier with its patented HyperHepa technology. In fact, they are the same units used and trusted by hospitals worldwide.
IQ Air filters stand out above the rest because they have been proven to filter out the ultrafine particles (smaller than 0.1 microns), which are known to be the most harmful to our health. These particles are the most dangerous ones because they are small enough to breathe into your lungs and then absorbed into your blood stream. These smaller particles also represent the bulk of the pollutants in our air (over 90% of airborne particles are 0.1 microns or smaller). On average, IQAir would remove 99 out of 100 pollutants in the air, as opposed to removing only 5 to 10, between 5-10% of airborne pollutants that a standard HEPA filter would remove.
You can learn more about the IQ Air purifiers at www.IQAir.com and then send an email to Danielle@GetNaturallyHealthy.com to get an incredible deal!

I get this question a lot so, I figured I would address it.
In essence, the VitaMix is a super-duper blender and then some. I use the VitaMix and LOVE it! Literally, I use it several times a day. Not only is it fantastic for making smoothies, soups, stews, purees, nut butters, salad drrssings and flours, but it is also great for finely chopping veggies. It saves me a ton of time, a ton of money and makes healthy eating simple. I often joke with friends that I would be lost without it. (more…)

In honor of September being Childhood Obesity Month, I want to take a few moments to talk about the significance of childhood obesity and gives some tip and tricks to get your kids to eat healthy.
I probably don’t need to pour out the statistics… you have likely seen them numerous times. Childhood obesity is on the rise and it is serious! The health of our children is declining and MUST be addressed. From TV to video games to junk food to fast food, children today hardly stand a chance on their own. Yes, us parents are critically important in preserving the health of our children and setting the example.
Regardless of our constraints, it is imperative that we take responsibility for our children’s health and make it a priority in our lives. For many parents though, it is difficult to know where to begin. We are bombarded with marketing, mixed messages, and constraints on time and money. Here are some tips though to get you started in making a difference for your children and their health: (more…)

With kids, it is hard to avoid candy. They get it from friends, family, at playdates, at birthday parties, and more. If you know me, you know that I dread having my kids even look at candy… forget eating it. Of course I do not want them to develop a complex about candy either so, I have to dissuade them from eating it very gently. My children already know that candy is a “red light” food and does not make their body big and strong but sometimes that is not motivation enough. Here is where the Candy Fairy enters. (more…)

I am sure you have seen the news. Wal-Mart has announced that it wants to make healthier foods more accessible. In a huge publicity event that included an appearance by Michelle Obama, Wal-Mart stated 5 elements of their healthier foods campaign:
- Reducing sodium by 25%, added sugars by 10%, and removing trans fats from packaged foods.
- Making healthier choices more affordable, by reducing costs on fresh fruits and vegetables and also reducing the premium costs of healthier packaged food options. (more…)

As a result, my holiday gift to you is an interview I did with Dr. William Sears, creator of the Dr. Sears’ LEAN program, for the Women’s Health Empowerment TeleSummit.
