Did you find what you wanted?

There is no need to make yourself insane. Getting naturally healthy does NOT have to be complicated! I promise.
A lot of times, clients come to me fearful and apprehensive. There is so much information out there, they are simply overwhelmed and confused. To add fuel to the fire, they are concerned that they will have to completely change the way they eat and live and they are concerned that it is going to cost them a fortune. (more…)

div align=”left”>There are 3 things successful people do. They are the same things we can train our children to do to help them succeed. Those three things are:
1. Know what they want: Work with your kids to create a vision. Create SMART (Specific, Measurable, Actionable and Attainable, Relevant and Realistic, Time sensitive) goals and define what success looks like.
2. Notice what they are getting: Get into action and monitor your results. Don’t just notice whether or not they have attained their goal or milestone but focus on how far they have come as well! Remember that it is not just about success. If the goals are truly worthy, failure is in fact a part of the learning experience and NOT something to be ashamed of. Help kids shift their perspective of failure. Keep in mind that we have to take steps to get up the mountain– we can not conquer the mountain one step.
3. Remain flexible and keep changing: Sometimes things do not go as expected. Work with your kids to help them find additional support and be able to ask for help. Reframe failure as an opportunity and practice reflecting. Be sure kids are competing with themselves and NOT someone else.
Finally, motivation! There are a lot of myths about motivation (e.g. nothing motivates my kid). Remember, all action (and lack of action) is motivated by something!
Nike had the key when they created their “Just Do It” slogan. I would like to add to it though– Just do it NOW AND KEEP GOING!
I can’t even begin to tell you how many times I have a fabulous idea or got really excited about doing something and then, the enthusiasm wanes and the idea or action I committed to disappears. There wasn’t anything wrong with the ideas or intentions– they just simply did not get done because I never started them, I never got into ACTION!
Action is a pretty phenomenal thing. Think back to the last thing you got took action on. Ever notice that action builds momentum and has a snowball effect? Before you know it, your commitment to eat healthy leads to cleaning out your closets, buying some organic food, and then creating your own garden (in fact, this year my own home garden has doubled in size as a result). Unfortunately though, when the action stops so do the results. If you are starting to notice that things aren’t happening then take a look at what you are NOT doing. Chances are you stopped taking action.
Spring is here. Get out there, get into action. When you’re taking action, the results will come.
Just do it now and keep going!!
